OEA’s Personal Legal Services Program (PLSP) provides personal legal assistance to OEA members, their spouses, and dependent children.

Specific situations covered under the program include, but are not limited to:

Wills

Power of Attorney

In-state child support enforcement

Uncontested divorces

Paternity suits

Juvenile court proceedings

Modification of domestic relations orders

Property damage

Personal injury suits

Victim protection orders

Recovery of property

Libel, slander, assault, battery, trespass

Legal services are also provided for defense of misdemeanor and felony charges; however, services beyond the initial five hours are available at a discounted rate.

Should you encounter problems on the job, which might result in legal issues such as job terminations/suspensions, you should contact your local president who will contact the OEA to ensure proper representation.
